Technicians & Installers

Description:  Install and service identity management and security (access control, Burglar and video surveillance) systems at customer locations.  Position reports to Project Manager.

 

Hours:  Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

  • 3+ years successful field service experience, preferably in a technology field

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Experience with PC’s, networking, database management (SQL)

  • Excellent mechanical skills and aptitude

  • Ability to work independently at remote locations, often unsupervised

  • Excellent references and driving record

  • Reliable vehicle

  • Honest, articulate, motivated and dependable

  • Must pass drug testing and criminal background investigation

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Mechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power tools.

  • Experience reading blue prints and schematic drawings.

  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving skills.

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and Climb ladders

     

Job duties will include:

 

  • Unpacking, installing and setting up products at customer site. Products include: personal computers, application software, digital cameras, digital color plastic card printers, and plastic card embossers.

  • Providing detailed operator training on use of the system: configuration, database setup and links, changing supplies in printer, designing card formats, navigating the software.

  • Performing preventative maintenance of hardware (e.g. card printers and embossers). Cleaning units and replacing worn parts.

  •  Performing emergency maintenance of system. Repairing card jams, transport problems, poor image quality, system crashes, application software problems, database link issues, communications issues with host/network.

  • Being a technical interface with our customer. Representing our company in a positive fashion, both technically and personally with the customer.

  • Installation of Security systems, Access control, CCTV, Burglar Alarm systems.

  • Cable installation, Conduit bending.

  • Install, program, maintain, or repair security, Access Control, CCTV or Burglar alarm wiring and equipment. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.

  • The Installation of door hardware for access control.

  • Terminating different forms of industry cabling including cat5e, cat6 and coaxial.

  • Programming and networking configurations of IP based equipment.

  • Reporting your time through daily activity reports.

Installation Coordinator

Capital North District Locations, Albany and Hudson Valley

 

The Installation Coordinator is a new position with LINSTAR and a great opportunity for someone who is excited by the challenge of helping us take the Installation Department to the next level. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with solid reporting skills and who thrives in fast paced environments in addition to having some experience in either installation coordination or the construction trades. LINSTAR has a best in class culture and we are looking for an energetic motivated person to become our first Installation Coordinator.

 

Installation Coordinator Description:

 

  • Assist with job and local installation scheduling.
  • Maintain job calendar along with Project Manager and Service Coordinator.
  • Coordinate with shipping on supply routes when necessary.
  • Verify that all job paperwork is complete when turned in.
  • Act as point of contact for installs and maintenance in the designated territory but not limited to.
  • Assist Project Manager and Service Coordinator with daily installer assignments.
  • Act as backup for Project Manager and Service Coordinator.
  • Assist in on site job installation for security (access control, Burglar and video surveillance) systems at customer locations. 
  • Position reports to Project Manager.

  • Project Coordination skills.

  • Understanding of Prevailing Wage.

  • Advanced communication skills.

  • Able to use reporting tools (Basecamp).

  • Ability to keep an even balance between the customer, Filed Service Technicians and Sales.
